About
The Studio.
Certified Entertainment Studios has been making records in the New Milford hills since 2004. Four rooms, a gear collection built one piece at a time, and a quiet stretch of Connecticut that has a way of loosening people up.
Our story
A room built by someone who plays.
Certified started the way most good studios do. A player who wanted a proper place to record, and who kept building it long after the first record was finished. What began as one treated room grew into four, and the gear collection grew with it, piece by piece, chosen by ear rather than by catalog.
Two decades later the sessions cover most of the map. Rock and punk bands who need a room that can take the volume. Rappers cutting hooks and features. Songwriters working alone with an acoustic and a good microphone. Podcasters who want their show to sound like it belongs on a real network. Owner Ryan plays in Gumbo, a New Milford band that folds punk, reggae, ska, and surf into the same set, which is a decent hint about how genre gets treated around here.
The studio sits on private land ten minutes north of the New Milford Green. That part was deliberate. There is no meter running in a parking garage, no elevator load in, no city outside the door. Ninety minutes from Manhattan, and about as far from the pace of it as you can get on a tank of gas.

How we work
Four things we do not compromise on.
One session at a time
We do not run two rooms against each other. The building is yours for your block, so nobody is packing up around you while you are still chasing a take.
Owned, not rented
Every amp, kit, and microphone here belongs to the studio. It stays set up, stays maintained, and is dialed in by people who play through it themselves.
Genre agnostic
A punk band on Friday, a rapper on Saturday, a podcast on Monday. The room does not have a favorite, and neither does the engineer.
Finished, not just tracked
Tracking, overdubs, mixing, mastering, and the video if you want it. You can walk out of here with something ready to release.
Who records here
Loud bands, sharp writers, and everyone in between.
Rock, Punk, and Metal
Full band tracking with two kits, a wall of amps, and a room that can take the volume. Cut it live, overdub what needs it, and leave with something that sounds like the show.
Hip Hop and R&B
A booth built for vocals and an engineer who knows how to stack, tune, and sit them right. Bring beats or build them here. Cut a feature in an afternoon or lock in for a project.
Podcasts and Brands
Branded shows, interview sets, voice over, and content days for companies that want broadcast quality without a drive into the city or a production budget to match.
Open since 2004 in New Milford, CT.
